Fitbit Wireless Personal Trainer – Review

The Fitbit Wireless Personal Trainer is Inspiring Weight Loss!!

Fitbit Fitness TrackerOne of the most inspiring things when you are working to achieve a goal is the ability to clearly see your progress towards reaching that goal. Everyone pretty much at one point or another has thought about losing weight or leading a healthier lifestyle. Though, for many people living a healthy lifestyle and losing weight is one the hardest goals to work towards. People often fall out of diets and fitness routines because they can’t see any visible signs of improvement. In many cases the benefits of a proper diet and regular exercise routine are not evident until weeks or sometimes months later. It’s difficult to find the inspiration to continue a strict diet and difficult exercise program when it doesn’t seem like anything is changing. To stay inspired, some people turn to personal coaches and friends when trying to losing weight or eat right, but nowadays there is a simpler solution and it’s called Fitbit.

Fitbit fitness tracker cliped on a pocket

The Fitbit fitness trackers is a small gadget that is sort of like a fitness coach, nutritionist, Somnologist (a sleep doctor), and a personal assistant all rolled into one little high tech clip that is no larger than a quarter.  You can wear the Fitbit anywhere on your body that you can clip it onto: a pocket, a belt, or even a bra. Once you clip the Fitbit on it immediately starts tracking your fitness, and it continues to track it throughout the day even if you happen writing a review about how great it is. The Fitbit tracks how many steps you’ve taken during a day, how active you are, calories burned, distance traveled, and even your sleep patterns. Inside the Fitbit is a small accelerometer and gyroscope that makes it possible to track your steps and movement in three dimensions. And the Fitbit accurate tracked activities such as walking around the house or going out for a job perfectly. All of the data that the Fitbit tracks is wirelessly synced to the included base station, which also double as a charging cradle, and to the Fitbit tracker website.

Fitbit Daily report

The Fitbit website, which is free for everyone to use, clearly visualizes all of the data that a person’s Fitbit clip has been tracking since he or she first started using it.  There is one small downside to the Fitbit to be honest, though; since it isn’t actually magic, the Fitbit cannot actually track your calorie intake automatically. To track caloric intake Fitbit owners are expected to record the calories of the meals that they eat during the day on the Fitbit website. Thankfully, Fitbit has made it effortless to record those calories by providing users with the ability to search for foods by name, brand, and even restaurant. It couldn’t be easier to find out what your daily calorie intake is for each day.

If you’re planning on swimming off some of those calories with the Fitbit though just remember to leave it behind. Unfortunately, at this time the Fitbit is only water resistant not waterproof, which means that while you can get the Fitbit wet occasionally it would best to avoid the swimming pool or baths while wearing it.

Fitbit Sleep report

When your day has come to a close and your ready to get some sleep the Fitbit is still useful. If you want to track your sleep patterns then all you have to do is place the Fitbit into the included wristband and press and hold the small button on the device for about two seconds. While you are sleeping the Fitbit will measure how many times you awoke during your rest and sync it to the wireless base station, along with your other fitness data. From the Fitbit tracker website users can see what times during the night they were tossing and turning or sleeping soundly.

 Fitbit Charger

The entire Fitbit trackers runs on a small rechargeable battery and in our tests, the Fitbit was fully charged after only an hour after connecting it to its base station, which is the only time you’ll have to actually physically connect it. Though it not much of a hassle, you should only expect to have to charge your Fitbit once a week since a fully charged battery  lasts for about 8 to 9 days.

We all need a little encouragement or inspiration to reach our goals in life and if your goal is a healthier lifestyle then let Fitbit be that inspiration for you.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Beat Depression

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has had a huge amount of research carried out on it by medical professional scientists to show its effectiveness against depressive disorders. More and more people suffer from depression and other mental health problems such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), acute anxiety and eating disorders. This could be due to the global economic downturn and people struggling with employment and housing or it could be that depression is not the taboo subject that it once was, and many people are more open about their suffering nowadays. It is perfectly normal to get depression at any point in life as it can be due to a chemical imbalance in the brain which you have no control over.

Self help booksAt one time doctors would simply give you anti-depressants to deal with anxiety or low mood without addressing the cause. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a brilliant way to treat mental health problems, either instead of medication or alongside it. It is not the type of treatment where you would lie on a couch and tell the doctor all about your past. CBT totally focuses on the here and now, and how a person is feeling on a day to day basis. It is a therapy which will not cure depression, but it will help you think more positively about things in general by changing negative behavioral cycles.

People who suffer from depression and anxiety etc, think very negatively about life and about themselves. A CBT therapist works with a patient to identify the link between negative thoughts and the effect it has on a person’s mood. A specially trained therapist will encourage a person to concentrate on their negative thought and address it. To ask themselves questions such as ‘why did I just have that thought and what triggered it’ and ‘How does the thought make me feel and how can I change the negative way I feel to a positive feeling’. A CBT therapist will ask the patient to keep a mood and thought journal. They are expected to keep a daily record of any negative thoughts they have and how it affects their mood. CBT basically addresses the way we think, feel and then how we go on to behave as a result of these thoughts. Similarly, if a person occasionally has a nice thought with even a hint of positivity, CBT would encourage internalization of how the nice thought made them feel. This ‘behavioral exposure’ is quite a baptism of fire but has proven positive results.

CBT has a very high success rate for people suffering from certain mental health problems such as clinical depression, OCD, body dimorphic disorder, anxiety and eating disorders. By keeping thought journals as well as talking openly to a qualified therapist, sufferers can begin to change their negative thought patterns by recognizing it when it comes, analyzing it and then letting it go, no longer dwelling on it and letting it trigger low mood. Most people find having a year or so of CBT therapy makes them feel empowered and more assertive, resulting in less negative emotional feelings.

Of course CBT does not suit everyone and is not helpful for all conditions. Some people find it too distressing to write down their thoughts and analyse the way they are feeling as this in itself can bring on an anxiety attack. There are other things to try such as meditation, mindfulness and hypnosis which have all proved to be effective in helping to cope with depression and putting a more positive spin on thinking patterns.

Find The Right Drug Treatment For You

People who are suffering from a drug addiction don’t all arrive there in the same way. The reasons behind their addiction are varied, as is the length of the addiction and how it’s affecting their lives. So it only makes sense that drug treatment isn’t a one size fits all deal. What works for one addict may not work for another. The key to successful drug treatment is finding the right fit for you.

As long as you choose the right Maryland treatment centers or any other facility within the United States for your needs, you will be fine.

Here are three key things that you will need in order to get healthy again.

The right environment

There are numerous drug treatment centers that you can choose to go to. If you are absolutely not comfortable with the drug treatment center, then odds are you are going to fight your treatment every step of the way. While it is normal that there is some level of discomfort, if you think that it is going to be impossible for you to stay there, then you will want to look into other treatment centers. But don’t just walk out at the first sign of discomfort: look around, ask questions. Get a feel for the place.

The right doctor

As with the actual center, the first time you meet with your doctors and therapists, there will be a certain level of discomfort and awkwardness. But as you work with them, this should dissipate. But if you find that there is a major personality conflict with a doctor or therapist, then your treatment may not work. Ask up front if it will be possible to switch doctors or counselors if any issues arise.

The right treatment

There is not just one method of treatment when it comes to drug addiction. There are more than a handful of treatment methods that may or may not work for you. They key here is to be open to all forms of treatment so that you can find the one that will work for you. At first it might be a trial and error method, but you will find one that is a great fit.

Do Ergonomic Chairs Really Work?

What is Ergonomics?

The easiest definition of ergonomics is the science of work. The scientists behind ergonomics study work and how to improve work between people and their environment. The concentration of this science is the material around us that will help us to work better and comfortably. For example, millions of people work in an office where they spend around eight hours a day sitting in front of a computer. Their chair, the height of their desk and posture are examples of ergonomics. If the chair is not the right height or is not comfortable, then that person will not be able to work efficiently or productively.

It is important that the ergonomics around a person fit their specific needs so that they can work to the best of their ability. If not, their company may suffer, their health may suffer and they may lose their job if they do not perform up to the standards of their company. Ergonomics helps to save time, and it can also improve your health, life and employment.

Ergonomics Chair

The type of chair an employee sits in can play a part in their health and productivity. A chair that is the wrong height and does not support the back can cause a person to experience back pain and maybe valuable time off of the job. An ergonomics chair should have adjustable seat height, seat width and depth, lumbar support, a backrest, comfortable seat material, armrests and the ability to swivel. Many traditional chairs have these options, but an ergonomics chair should have them all.

There are a few types of ergonomics chairs.

- The kneeling chair has no back, but supports the lower back. It reduces stress from the back and leg muscles. It helps the person to sit more naturally and comfortably because the support comes from the seat of the chair.

- The saddle chair is shaped like a horse’s saddle and puts the person in a position of sitting and standing. It is good for people who slouch and have lower back problems because it forces good spinal posture and takes the weight off of the legs.

- The recliner chair helps to take the pressure off and allows the person to feel comfortable when their feet are raised. There are desks and small tables available to work around the recliner chair so that people can work comfortably and efficiently.

Do Ergonomics Chairs Really Work?

Pros:

These chairs are usually used for people with lower back pain. Sometime lower back pain can result from bad posture. Ergonomics chairs do work because they force that person sitting in them to straighten their back and sit correctly. They have shown to reduce back pain and strengthen the muscles as well. When the traditional chair is substituted for an ergonomics chair, they will feel much different. Good posture is crucial to our health, which means that ergonomics chairs are not just for work but for improving health as well.

Cons:

Not all ergonomic chairs are for everyone. While one may work for someone, it may not work for someone else. They may be hard to get used because their designs are not very traditional. Some of the designs also make them hard to fit in some offices because lack of space. The chair may also seem out of place in an organized or decorated office space. Also, some of the chairs may be a little more expensive than the traditional desk chair.

While these ergonomic chairs may not look traditional, they do have some benefits that can help people in their work.

Detox and Body Cleansing For Improved Health

Maria Sharapova Inspiration for the Everyday Comeback Story

Comeback stories seem to be the ones that pull at the heartstrings. They reaffirm that anything is possible and that with some hard work and determination all odds can be overcome.

Maria Sharapova is one of the most well known women’s tennis players. She is a fierce competitor and worked her way to the No. 1 ranking in 2008. In 2009 she encountered injuries in her right elbow and right shoulder which put her out of play. Many did not think that she would ever be able to play as well as she once did or compete at the same level.
Well, she determined to prove everyone wrong and her streak this year is beginning to prove that. She is one of the top seeds coming into the French Open and the odds are looking good. Maria most recently won the Rome Masters and is coming in with a No. 7 seed.
Maria will face tough competition in the upcoming tournament in Paris but she has been working extremely hard to show that she is still a champion. She has never been able to win the French Open which makes this story all the more exciting. Sharapova was very close to winning the French Open in previous years but she just couldn’t seem to get past the Williams sisters.
This year the Willams’ are not competing in the tournament due to injuries. Hopefully, this will be Maria Sharapova’s year. If she can clinch this victory, then she will be the comeback story of the year and the best part is that she will have done it with a tournament she has never been able to win.
Good luck Maria, show everyone that comebacks are not only for the movies!
