Bringing Child’s Art to Life
Thursday, June 19th, 2008This week, let us be inspired by South Korean photographer Yeondoo Jung’s series Wonderland, a collection of amazing photographs in which he brilliantly brings children’s crayon drawings to life. Read more about the process of his series here.

I Want To Be a Singer, 2004, Yeondoo Jung
Be inspired by the profound imaginations that belong to such little beings!
Here are a few options and ideas on how to have fun with this concept:
1. Using your camera and a few clever props, recreate a child’s drawing á la Yeondoo Jung.
2. Choose a child’s drawing to bring to life in the medium and style of your choice (sculpture, paints, collage, et cetera).
3. Or reverse the concept and choose a photograph to recreate in the medium of your choice.

Find the Art in the Everyday
Thursday, June 12th, 2008Let’s revisit a favorite theme of mine: Find the Art in the Everyday. As you go through your day, look for the beauty. Find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Take a photo, draw a sketch, journal about it, then share with all of us here.

Hummingbirds
Thursday, June 5th, 2008This week, our creative theme is the small bird of the Trochilidae family, known to us as the Hummingbird. A beautiful bird, with incredible flight ability, a distinctive humming sound, amazing eating habits and an impressive migration, there is much inspiration to be drawn from such a small, little creature.
