How do I participate at Inspire Me Thursday?
Simply visit the site each week, join in the challenges, meet other artists, browse the recommended books or websites, be inspired to create some art. There is no formal process to join; just leave a comment when you’re ready to share your art or speak your mind. It’s up to you how much or how little you participate.
Who runs Inspire Me Thursday?
Inspire Me Thursday is maintained and updated by Melanie Lyn Hamilton. The site was born February 2006 after a creative brainstorm between Melanie and fellow artist and friend Misty Mawn.
I can’t make art in just one day, or I am unable to post on Thursdays.
No need to rush or miss out on participating. New themes and prompts are posted on Thursdays, but you can leave your link anytime during the week. (Hint: you may have a better chance of having your art seen if you post early to mid-week.)
I posted a comment, but it is not showing. What’s up with that?
Most likely your comment didn’t pass through our spam filter for some reason. With 24,745 spam comments thus far (yikes!), every so often a valid comment gets labeled as a bad guy. If you post a comment and it doesn’t appear on the site, let me know and I will see if I can wave my magic wand and make it appear.
May I suggest a topic?
You bet. I am always looking for new themes, topics, techniques, websites, et cetera to consider. Send me your suggestion (include your name and link if you want me to credit you for the idea!) and I will add it to my suggestion box.
Is there any way I can contribute to Inspire Me Thursday?
There are several ways you can keep Inspire Me Thursday going strong. You can spread the word by adding a logo and link to your site. You could donate supplies or a book or other artsy goodies for a prize giveaway (good way to promote yourself!). You can write up a tutorial, suggest a topic or a link, offer feedback on the website. You can donate towards the web hosting costs. And, most importantly, keep on checking back week after week!
