My first time playing….Here is a skinny I made for a challenge a while back. It fits in perfectly with the theme.

In many parts of the world, coffee is the drink of choice from kitchen tables to cafes to the drive- thru. Over a cup of coffee promises are made, strangers meet, friends talk, memories shared, decisions made, business deals clinched. …….all over a cup of coffee. The tradition is never more alive than it is today.
This body of work honors that cup of coffee in an untraditional way.
The painting medium is instant coffee in various strengths. Collage materials include every day items such as cardboard, used coffee filters, newspaper, sheet music as well as vintage ephemera from local antique shops.
Some of the text is lyrics from songs written about the beverage.
So sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy my collages!

Ever had one of those days where even cup loads of coffee doesn’t keep you going?
-
Found an article where a study was conducted: people who drink warm coffee are considered to have a “warmer” personality than people who drink iced coffee. From the story: “It appears that the effect of physical temperature is not just on how we see others, it affects our own behavior as well. Physical warmth can make us see others as warmer people, but also cause us to be warmer – more generous and trusting – as well.” Things that make you go hmmm…
