Cereal Box Art
This week’s challenge is Cereal Box Art. Grab an empty box and get your creative groove on. Cut it up, transform it into a sculpture of some sort, or use it as a canvas, like Carla Sonheim does with her Cereal Box Transfer Paintings. Head over to Carla’s blog and follow her three-part tutorial to give it a try:
· Cereal Box Transfer Paintings : Part 1
· Cereal Box Transfer Paintings : Part 2
· Cereal Box Transfer Paintings : Part 3
More Ideas + Inspiration:
· Cereal Box a la Keri Smith
· Cereal Box and Milk Carton Placemat
· Cereal Box Bookbinding
· Don’t have a cereal box? Use this template to make your own.
· · ·
After you’ve completed your cereal box art, post it on your blog, then leave your link* in the comments section of this post so we can go check it out.
* To ensure it is easy for us to find your work, please provide a link to a static page that will always show your submission, and not your website’s main page. Help! What’s a static page?

Thank you for the idea! I never considered using cereal boxes as a paint canvas; I will likely play with this one some more.
For now, since we are in need of a few more Halloween decorations and I am refusing to buy them, here’s what we did:

This is late, because I didn’t plan on doing this prompt, since it doesn’t fit with any current projects.
But I surprised myself and did it anyway.

Contemplation - it seems very late to be doing this cereal box prompt but I really appreciate that the prompts are now left up for a few weeks instead of just one.
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:50 amI absolutely love Carla Sonheim’s cereal box art. I decided to give it a bit of my own twist.
