Notebook

This week’s theme is Notebook. Alter or embellish a notebook (take advantage of back-to-school sales!), use a sheet of notebook paper in a collage, create a still life drawing of a stack of notebooks, or whatever you may be inspired to create.

Ideas + Inspiration
· Altered Notebook Tutorial
· Free Class: Summertime Notebook by Karenann Young
· Do it Yourself Notebook Paint Job (for the brave at heart only!)
· Torn Notebook Sculpture (more at Flickr)

I have been working on this in the last week. I love transforming notebooks and books into my art journals. A girl can never have too many colorful writing places:)

I actually made this book for a workshop I’m taking with Suzi Blu. It fits this week’s theme, so I’m going to post it.

I re-did the cover of my sketch book with shapes cut from paper remnants. This is my first attempt at actually participating in IMT, rather than just admiring! It was such fun, I think I will go back and do last week’s challenge as well.

This may not be what you had in mind, but my art is done on a notebook. Usually I draw on individual papers or in a moleskin. I look forward to visiting you all.

I recently watched the movie “Waitress” (which I LOVED!). The main character is having an unplanned pregnancy and writes in a notebook to her unborn child to honestly document her feelings throughout her pregnancy. This inspired me to create:
