Welcome to Inspire Me Thursday...   A weekly dose of inspiration for
mixed media artists and creative types to nurture their muses and CREATE!

Healing

This week’s creative prompt is Healing. We have all felt pain at certain times in our lives — sometimes physical, sometimes emotional. Create art that celebrates your own personal stories of healing. Be inspired by medicine, nature, faith, or whatever may have helped you during your journey to healing.

Great topic! I was totally inspired between reading this weeks theme and being around my flowers this morning, that I was inspired to create this piece:

Thanks for this creative idea. I just did a little pencil drawing you can see at my site under the title “Healing Pencil Drawing”, but it was fun to see how far I have moved forward since years back. I hope to get more creative as time goes on.

    Hi everyone,
Thank you Melanie for this prompt…it’s very synchronistic as I’ve just posted seven new mandalas; and I’ve called mandala-making “mandala medicine” for quite a while now.
I’m sharing the Venus Flytrap” mandala: http://mandalaoasis.blogspot.c.....ytrap.html

Although you can see the lastest seven under the July 11th post. I look forward to visiting as many blogs as I can over the next week!
    Cheers!

“… I’d like the people who look at my art to feel that they have received something best described, perhaps, as nourishment for the soul. And that would qualify as some sort of healing, wouldn’t it?”

Well, if I put my link it in gets blocked as spam so trying it without the link. Just go to the one year anniversary entry to see my submission.

Healing is a wonderful prompt. I could choose so many stories to share. But just last week I drew a picture of my dear friend with her healing foot in an icy creek, such perfect timing to share for this week!

This piece came from a time when I’d lost both my home and my job and had to stay with my folks for a short time. I was going through a difficult period and my head was pretty messed up. As always I turned to my artwork as a release and this design was the result.
