Find the Art in the Everyday

Let’s revisit a favorite theme of mine: Find the Art in the Everyday. As you go through your day, look for the beauty. Find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Take a photo, draw a sketch, journal about it, then share with all of us here.

· · ·

Get creative by interpreting this topic through art, words, photography, however you feel moved to express yourself. Post it on your blog, then leave your link* in the comments section of this post so we can go check it out.

* To ensure it is easy for us to find your work, please provide a link to a static page that will always show your submission, and not your website’s main page.

Finding art in the everyday ordinary is what my daily photography practice is about. Here’s one that I thought particulary appropriate:

I recently went on a camping trip with a person who refused to participate in any activities. She said she was content people watching, but I wondered if she had been an outsider for so long that she didn’t know how to include herself.

This reminded me of an “everyday obect” that may have that same problem…

This was a wonderful idea and I LOVE Yeondoo Jung’s photos! I just didn’t have anything handy to follow this prompt the way I wanted to.

Then, I started thinking about how when I was little, I was crazy about My Little Ponies. So, I painted one with watercolors:
