Find the Art in the Everyday
Let’s revisit a favorite theme of mine: Find the Art in the Everyday. As you go through your day, look for the beauty. Find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Take a photo, draw a sketch, journal about it, then share with all of us here.

Finding art in the everyday ordinary is what my daily photography practice is about. Here’s one that I thought particulary appropriate:

a walk through my town last week fits this theme perfectly - the mural in the last picture is a beautiful example of art in the everyday.

Here is a gargoyle on the side of one of the green houses that was at the Fioli House and Gardens in Palo Alto. I enhanced the color a bit and she appears to be crying acid-y tears.

Yay! I walk to work as often as I can taking an earlier train so that I have time to dawdle. I take pictures with my phone to later use in my journal or send to my S.O (flowers), collecting artifacts and images.

I recently went on a camping trip with a person who refused to participate in any activities. She said she was content people watching, but I wondered if she had been an outsider for so long that she didn’t know how to include herself.
This reminded me of an “everyday obect” that may have that same problem…

This was a wonderful idea and I LOVE Yeondoo Jung’s photos! I just didn’t have anything handy to follow this prompt the way I wanted to.
Then, I started thinking about how when I was little, I was crazy about My Little Ponies. So, I painted one with watercolors:
