Self Taught & Outsider Art

Outsider art, self-taught art, grassroots art, art brut — there seems to be as many names as there are definitions. Yet despite any controversy of what to call these artists and their artworks, all are intriguing and interesting to ponder and explore. The Anthony Petullo Collection of Self-Taught and Outsider Art is, in the words of the collector, a collection “filled with figurative drawings and paintings, many are colorful and many are storytelling. It’s a fun collection, intended to be uplifting, curious, and inventive.” The site includes a look at the works in the collection, thoughts from the collector himself, information about the artists, history of Self-Taught and Outsider Art, and more.
