Welcome to Inspire Me Thursday...   A weekly dose of inspiration for
mixed media artists and creative types to nurture their muses and CREATE!

Secrets

This week’s challenge is to reveal (or hide) a secret in your art. Snippets of journaling beneath layers of paint… the photo of a secret crush peeking out from behind collaged papers and images… an illustration of a secret wish.

· · ·

Create a new piece of art for this challenge, post it on your blog, then leave your link* in the comments section of this post so we can go check it out.

* To ensure it is easy for us to find your artwork, please provide a link to a static page that will always show your submission, and not your website’s main page.

I should have kept it a secret! I made this mixed media piece, titled “Take that”, with the idea of representing kid’s play. In it I used one of my Grandson’s plastic toy guys. (white at the bottom of the piece). I made the BIG mistake of not keeping that a SECRET. When I showed Dominic (3 years old), he wanted his guy back ( you know, because he only has about 60 at my house, and he’d sure need this one back). So it cost me a trade of two of my miniature lizards and one of my miniature frogs. (similar to the ones I used in the collage,) which he took home and promptly lost. SO the next time I steal from his overflowing, he has no idea what all is in there, huge toy box at my house, I am SO keeping it a SECRET!

I don’t like to think about it. I don’t talk about it. I just pretend its not happening. I’m enjoying the world around me while I still can.

I love the recent themes. They really seem to connect with what’s occurring in my life so here’s my interpretation of Secrets: http://surrealmuse.com/2007/03/31/the-secret/

This one was tough! I had a secret all mapped out - then I realized it had a double meaning. And not in a good way.

Anyhow, I created another doodlejournal inspired by the triumphant end to unpacking my studio and office today. YAY!
