Welcome to Inspire Me Thursday...   A weekly dose of inspiration for
mixed media artists and creative types to nurture their muses and CREATE!

Art+Architecture

This week let’s find inspiration in architecture. Take a moment to look around at the buildings in which you dwell, buildings in your everyday life. Or give thought to those famous structures in near and faraway lands. Notice the angles, the spaces, the shapes, the textures, the colors. What kind of mood does the space evoke? Could the achitectural elements be an inspiration for an abstract painting? A nice background for a collage? Could the colors be the palatte for your next piece of jewelry?

Need more inspiration? You can find some great information and visuals at these interesting sites:

For Inspire Me Thursday’s Theme: Art and Architecture
As a digital artist, this is my version of Street Art. My daughter Julie took the picture of this architectural embellishment on a building along Grand Ave in St. Louis. I DIGITALLY added the clown climbing up the wall, inspired by the wonderful street art of OS GEMEOS, http://www.lost.art.br/osgemeos_02.htm.

Julie takes terrific pictures of the architecture around St. Louis, especially the downtown Washington street area. To see some of Julie’s blogged photos, go to this site: http://juliethoughtsandpictures.blogspot.com/.

Doors and windows are always interesting because of the symbolism behind them. This is a photo I took a ways back of, of course, a door!

I found this photo, and manipulated it, and felt the need to add the nuns. I’m new to digital collage, so be gentle (:

Had to dig a bit, find the house in my archives - then, I played. Aaaah, to play!

Here is the house. My house, though I’ve never even stepped as far as the grass on the front lawn. Got lost a couple years ago in CT, on the way to Boston. Found this house while seeking lunch. Love this house and wonder what it’s like inside. See it here:
