here is my contribution to this week’s challenge… the background was started then left unfinished for a few weeks… the collage was inspired by a poem about abandoned dreams… and made with little cardboard foliage cutouts that came from the packaging of one of the kiddos’ christmas toys.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I’ve spent the week being frustrated with this challenge - I’ve posted just sort of a sketch of what I wish I could draw/paint

Coffee and donuts: I worked on this piece about 2 years ago. Recently I have been studying the pop art of Tom Wesselman. For Inspire Me Thursday’s challenge of abandoned art I decided to go back and rework this with more of a defined paper cut appearance, influenced by Wesselman’s “Still life with blowing curtain”.

I have one to share. I wrote about it more under the description of the first photo…it’s a before and after. I thought of this painting of mine right away when I saw this challenge last week.

Old but not abandoned, here’s mine for the week:

here’s mine. (I haven’t really abandoned the piece - it’s just waiting for me to decide what I want to do to finish it.)

You inspired me to work ago on forgotten collages. I begann an “altered book” a two years ago. After this challenge I searched for this book, found it and many other things and now I’m reworking on it.
Thanks

After much debate; I had decided to pick my Scatterlings© line up again by doing smaller promotional pieces. Here is my first…

I had to dig up a really old abandoned piece of art but I’m glad I did.

Wow.
This could not have come at a more serendipitous time. Last year, I happily began a couple pieces directly relating (no pun intended) to having found my First Mom (aka birth mom). But abruptly hit such a brick wall so I stopped. Cold. Put ‘em both on a shelf and walked away… they nagged a lot.The other day, I took one down, propped it up and will jump back into the creative pool… one toe at a time. ;^)

This was abandoned for a few weeks after I started it, but in the last few days I keep coming back to it and adding a little something more, day by day, piece by piece. Still a work in progress!
