Abandoned Art II
Since last week was a rather short week, let’s extend the challenge to give new life to our abandoned art. Search your studio for those abandoned pieces of art that are beckoning you to finish them. Or if you are up for a new challenge, then find something that has been abandoned by someone else — a note, an old mirror, a shirt, whatever — and use it in your art.
· · ·
Create a piece of art for this challenge, post it on your blog, then leave your link* in the comments section of this post so we can go check it out.
* To ensure it is easy for us to find your artwork, please provide a link to a static page that will always show your submission, and not your website’s main page.

here is my contribution to this week’s challenge… the background was started then left unfinished for a few weeks… the collage was inspired by a poem about abandoned dreams… and made with little cardboard foliage cutouts that came from the packaging of one of the kiddos’ christmas toys.

I’ve spent the week being frustrated with this challenge - I’ve posted just sort of a sketch of what I wish I could draw/paint

Coffee and donuts: I worked on this piece about 2 years ago. Recently I have been studying the pop art of Tom Wesselman. For Inspire Me Thursday’s challenge of abandoned art I decided to go back and rework this with more of a defined paper cut appearance, influenced by Wesselman’s “Still life with blowing curtain”.

I have one to share. I wrote about it more under the description of the first photo…it’s a before and after. I thought of this painting of mine right away when I saw this challenge last week.

I look forward to seeing everyone elses, but have internet problems at the moment so I may be slow!

here’s mine. (I haven’t really abandoned the piece - it’s just waiting for me to decide what I want to do to finish it.)

Thanks

Wow.
This could not have come at a more serendipitous time. Last year, I happily began a couple pieces directly relating (no pun intended) to having found my First Mom (aka birth mom). But abruptly hit such a brick wall so I stopped. Cold. Put ‘em both on a shelf and walked away… they nagged a lot.
The other day, I took one down, propped it up and will jump back into the creative pool… one toe at a time. ;^)

This was abandoned for a few weeks after I started it, but in the last few days I keep coming back to it and adding a little something more, day by day, piece by piece. Still a work in progress!
