DISCUSS: Studio Dreams

Last week we took a peek at the desks of some creative types (including some of our IMTers!). I hope you all have a space that nurtures your creativity and allows your muse to let loose. But, for imagination’s sake, let’s suppose the sky was the limit… what would your dream studio look like?

For the record, yes, it’s a tree house. That would indeed be my dream studio.

As far as the inside goes, that’s a bit of a paradox. I like things to be neat and orderly, but usually when things are neat and orderly I’m not painting. If I’m painting, things are a chaotic mess.

Perhaps a robot maid, like the one in the Sims, would be useful.

    or the butler in sims!

OMGosh, I met a lady whose studio/business name was ‘Treetops Studio’, not sure if her studio was actually in a tree, but oh ya…what an image. I am actually at a crossroads right now with this…I have a space in a building I own, that I could develop into a studio that is open tot he public, likely my only chance as I can’t see doing it in a space I had to pay rent (this is my first year in business). But I’m paralyzed. I can see all the ways it coudl fail. I daydream about what my dream space might look like. How I could make it look exactly as I want it to look, asking no one what they think along the way (I always ask everyone what they think of what I’m doing, it’s a habit I’m trying to break!). So…my dream studio…is an extension of me. It’s everything I’m not, daring and it stands out, bold…a place people will smile. Beyond that, I’m not sure, but that in itself makes me smils.
